Spent a lot of time doing some art journaling today. Kind of in a bummer of a mood, but drawing, painting, gluing, coloring… all of those things served as a nice distraction.
The words in the background are lyrics I pulled from a pretty song I heard the other day called “Broken” by Lauren Hoffman.
In kind of a funk today, but I know everything will be alright. See you here tomorrow.
art journaling is definitely a good distraction when you’re not feeling great. i really like your page. the background is soft and dreamy. i think using song lyrics is a fantastic idea. so many times it seems like someone else has articulated your feelings so well that there’s no need to find other words. and you’re right, everything will be alright. have a good day.
Thank you! I just started out drawing and then I wrote the lyrics in crayon. I had seen an idea for dropping pieces of paper randomly and gluing them wherever they fell, and so I did that with some double-sided scrapbook paper. I also saw something that said to “spill randomly” with water colors, so I did that, too, before doing more detailed painting on the drawing. Then I sealed everything with Mod Podge.
Thanks for your encouragement. More will be clear today, and I’ll let you know!
i like the spilling randomly. i don’t spend nearly as much as time as you on your pages and that might be why mine don’t turn out as good as yours. 🙂 the drawing is fantastic. it is so good. please let me know about what you find out.
I don’t always spend that much time on my pages–this one just took longer because I spent a lot of time drawing. I like your pages a lot, too!
